Slum Dog Millionaire Special Screening with TV Stars — Anupama Verma, Divya Dutta, Gauri Karnik, Gauhar Khan, Shweta Keswani with Alex O’ Neil, and others at the Special Screening of the much talked about Oscar nominated film Slum Dog Millionaire at Cinemax.
India’s film industry celebrated as “Slumdog Millionaire” lived up to its rags-to-riches theme, receiving 10 Oscar nominations. The film, set amid the poverty of Mumbai’s notorious slums, continued its surprise run of success since it swept its four categories at the Golden Globes, including the prize for best drama. The film got the second highest number of nominations, including best director for Danny Boyle, best picture and two of the three song slots.
